Adaptive start and stop control
The 6800 documentation describes a soft starter that reads the motor's data during starting and stopping and adjusts accordingly. Instead of applying a fixed voltage ramp, the starter controls the acceleration curve and the deceleration curve: the user selects the curve that suits the load type, and the starter works to accelerate the load in the most stable way that curve allows. The same adaptive approach applies on stopping. A series of starting methods is provided so the starting behaviour can be matched to different load conditions.
What the AU6800 documentation lists
- Large LCD information screen — displays operating data and feedback information in Chinese and English, with other languages customisable; trip messages are displayed in language and state where the problem is.
- Remotely installable operation panel — the operating panel can be mounted away from the starter, for cabinet-door operation.
- Flexible cable access — control cables can be routed from the top, bottom or left, with cable access and fixing devices designed to make installation faster and tidier.
- Motor protection series — a set of motor protection functions is integrated, alongside extensive performance monitoring and event logging, so trips and operating history can be reviewed after the fact.
- Quick settings — guided quick setup is provided to get the machine running, with intuitive programming for the personalised settings behind it.
Soft starter or VFD?
The AU6800 is an online-type starter for the 55–400 kW class, and its documentation covers the start and the stop. A variable frequency drive controls speed continuously across its published frequency range. Both product types are in this catalogue — see the VFD vs soft starter comparison.
Ordering notes
Soft starters are sized to the motor's rated current and starting duty, not only its kilowatts. With your enquiry, send the motor nameplate power and current, the load type (pump, fan, compressor, crusher, conveyor) and how many starts per hour the duty involves; ask for the starter or cabinet configuration for that motor to be stated in the quotation. Minimum order is 1 piece on the main catalogue lines, as published on the platform store.
Frequently asked questions
What motor sizes does the AU6800 cover?
The published online soft starter range is 55 kW to 400 kW for three-phase motors at 380 V class. For a smaller motor, state its rating in the enquiry and ask for the documented options to be stated in the quotation.
Can the display language be changed?
The documentation states the LCD shows feedback in Chinese and English, and that other languages can be customised. Confirm the language you need when you enquire.
Does a soft starter save energy like a VFD?
No energy-saving figure is published for the AU6800. Its documented benefits are controlled starting and stopping, reduced mechanical and electrical stress, and protection. See the comparison page.
