Read this first: what “single-phase” describes
AU320 single-phase-input models (published table)
The AU320 series publishes dedicated single-phase-input model rows (the S1 suffix), alongside its three-phase-input S3 and G3 rows. The AU320 S1 rows take AC single-phase 200–240 V, 50/60 Hz (with a DC 150–400 V MPPT input range also published) and output three-phase 0–240 V at 0–400 Hz.
| Model | Published rating |
|---|---|
| AU320-0.75S1 | 0.75 kW — output current 3.8 A |
| AU320-1.5S1 | 1.5 kW — output current 7 A |
| AU320-2.2S1 | 2.2 kW — output current 9 A |
| AU320-3.0S1 | 3.0 kW — output current 13 A |
| AU320-4.0S1 | 4.0 kW — output current 15 A |
| AU320-5.5S1 | 5.5 kW — output current 20 A |
The AU320's control modes are V/F control and open-loop vector control, with built-in PID, a simple PLC function, dual analogue inputs and a published protection set covering overcurrent, overvoltage, overload, phase loss and short circuit. The AU321 variant adds RS485 Modbus communication and a built-in braking unit. The EV510 series also publishes single-phase 220 V model classes (its S2 rows, listed from 0.4 kW), and the AU620 pump inverter is documented in single- and three-phase versions — see the pump VFD page. For sites that need 380 V output rather than 240 V, the AU400 boost inverter is the step-up route.
Sizing notes
- The published table above prints output current beside power for every model — 3.8 A at 0.75 kW to 20 A at 5.5 kW on the S1 rows — and a motor nameplate prints its rated current beside its power.
- The model table prints output current, not input current: ask for the input figure for the single-phase model you are quoted, and check the site supply and protective devices against it.
- Derating practice differs between series; state your motor's nameplate current in the enquiry and ask for the model for it to be stated in the quotation.
A note on input current and supply sizing
At the top of the AU320's S1 table (5.5 kW, 20 A output) the printed figure is output current; the single-phase input current for the model is a separate figure, to be asked for with the enquiry so the supply and protective switchgear are checked against the right number. Where the supply cannot carry the largest S1 model, that is a supply question to settle before ordering: state the available supply current in the enquiry, and ask for the applicable model against it to be stated in the quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Can a single-phase VFD run a single-phase motor?
The AU320 and EV510 models published here take single-phase input and output three-phase power for three-phase motors; they are not specified for single-phase motors. If your motor is single-phase, contact us before ordering to discuss the correct route.
What is the largest single-phase-input model?
The AU320 publishes single-phase-input rows to 5.5 kW (20 A output). For 380 V output from a 220 V supply, the AU400 boost range covers 1.5–75 kW.
Does the drive need a three-phase supply for commissioning?
No. The AU320 S1 models are specified for a single-phase 200–240 V input; the three-phase side exists only between the drive and the motor.
Send us your motor rating and application
Tell us the motor power, the supply voltage on site and what the drive will run — pump, fan, machine tool or lift. Minimum order is 1 piece on the main catalogue lines, as published on the platform store; ask for price and lead time for your model and quantity to be stated in the quotation.
